Source Documents are the Word, Excel, or PDF files used to populate your Project with questions and build out its structure using Loopio's Project Import functionality.
Source Documents allow for better record-keeping and easy access to reference documents. An example of a Source Document may be the original RFP you received from your client. All Project Participants will have access to view and download any attached Source Documents.
How Can I Add Source Documents to a Project?
You can add Source Documents either upon creating the Project or within an existing Project.

How Do I Add a Source Document When Creating a New Project?
- From the Projects page, click New Project
- In Additional Project Options, click Browse to find your document
- Attach your Source Document
How Do I Add Source Documents to an Existing Project?
- Within a blank Project, click Import Questions in the middle of the page
- Select Source Document
- To upload a new source document, click Upload New...
- Click Browse then select My Device to browse your local files, or drag and drop the file you want to attach

If the Project already contains Project Entries, the ability to import documents will always appear in the Project Actions menu in the top-right of the Project and you can go here to import additional documents into the same Project.
How Can I Find My Source Documents in a Project?
Project documents can be managed from the Documents tab (Shortcut: 4) of the Project's Sidebar.
From this tab you can download any documents that have been added to the Project for reference, including the Source Documents.
Provided that Sections, Subsections, and Questions have not been imported from a Source Document, you can also delete the Source Document from this tab to replace it with another document.
What File Types Can Be Used for the Source Document Import Method?
File types that can be used to bulk import requirements directly into Loopio using the Source Document import method include:
- Microsoft Word documents (.docx)
- Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx)
Note: Projects imported from a PDF Source Document must be exported to a Custom Document.
